What does IV Hydration and infusions do for you?

IV hydration therapies provide fluids, electrolytes, vitamins, and in some cases the minerals required to promote healing, health, and wellness. Intravenous therapies deliver nutrients directly into the blood stream of the vascular system resulting in a rapid response. This yields a higher absorption rate leading to efficient rehydration. The benefits of IV hydration are countless and often result in increased energy, and an overall feeling of improved health.

Emily Gauvin, FNP -BC

I graduated from Rivier University in Nashua NH in 2015 and started working in nursing as an RN at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell Ma. I worked on an intermediate care floor caring for a full variety of patients. This is where I first developed my IV placement skills. I was continuously treating patients suffering with dehydration, migraines, malabsorption problems, electrolyte deficiencies, and so much more. Along with many other aspects of nursing, I quickly learned that placing IV lines was one of the skills I loved. After working at Lowell General and developing my foundations of nursing care, I transitioned over to Tufts Medical Center in Boston Ma where I worked on the Cardiomyopathy Unit caring for patients in end stage heart failure. While working on this unit my practiced expanded to a specific population of patients that required intense nursing care leading to the further development of my nursing skills. My IV placement skills quickly became expert level due to the critical care level of these patients and was also a desired skill among the other staff. I have always had such passion for caring for patients in every aspect of their health and it was this job that led me to want to further expand my career to another level. I always loved when patients would return just to visit with us after their hospital stay to show how they were improving and living the life they deserved, in a healthy state. I desired the ability to follow up with my patients my often to see the difference our care makes in their lives. I went on to pursue my family nurse practitioner degree at Endicott College in Beverly Ma. I in 2020 and began working as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Family Health Matters in Salem NH. I can easily say this was the best decision I have ever made. I love caring for the full family across the lifespan, from infants to elderly, and being able to connect with my patients for more than a one-time admission. One of the skills I missed from my hospital days was IV placement and infusion therapy. I strongly felt that patients in the outpatient world could greatly benefit from IV hydration and infusion therapy for a variety of reasons to live a better life day to day. I felt that patients had the right to have an elective option for IV infusion therapy that was outside of the hospital to feel the best that they can. Whether this be for immune recovery from an illness or simple rehydration after a workout or strenuous hike, I wanted the option to be available for my patients. This simple idea has grown into a full IV hydration clinic here at FHM to promote health and wellness to our patients. Our IV hydration infusion therapies are available to help you restore, rejuvenate, and revive your body to help you get back to living your life and feeling your best!
