Rosalyn J. Kenney

Founder and Primary Care Provider

ARNP

To her patients, she’s simply Roz.

Rosalyn J. Kenney, ARNP, founded Family Health Matters of Salem with a vision of creating the kind of primary care practice where she would want her own family to receive care—one built on trust, compassion, and genuine relationships. She believes the best healthcare starts by listening, understanding the whole person, and working together to achieve the healthiest life possible.

With decades of experience in primary care, Roz cares for patients of all ages, from children to older adults. She enjoys every aspect of family medicine, from preventive care and wellness visits to helping patients manage chronic medical conditions and navigate complex health concerns. She is especially passionate about taking the time to look beyond the obvious, connecting the pieces of a patient’s story, and finding answers when others may have reached a dead end.

One of the things patients appreciate most about Roz is that she believes healthcare should never feel rushed. She takes the time to explain diagnoses, review treatment options, and answer questions so patients leave their appointments feeling informed, supported, and confident about their care. Her goal is not only to treat illness, but to help people understand their health and become active partners in maintaining it.

While her practice is firmly rooted in evidence-based medicine, Roz also believes there is value in discussing natural and integrative approaches whenever appropriate. Nutrition, lifestyle changes, supplements, and other evidence-supported therapies are often incorporated alongside traditional medical treatment to create a personalized plan that reflects each patient’s goals and preferences.

Teaching has always been an important part of Roz’s career. In addition to educating her patients, she enjoys mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers by serving as a clinical preceptor for both nurse practitioner and physician assistant students. She also works closely with the providers and staff at Family Health Matters, encouraging a culture of collaboration, lifelong learning, and excellence in patient care.

Since opening Family Health Matters, Roz has remained committed to creating a welcoming practice where patients feel like family. She believes that healthcare is about more than prescriptions and procedures—it’s about relationships, trust, education, and treating every patient with kindness, dignity, and respect.

Whether she’s caring for a newborn, helping someone achieve a healthier lifestyle, managing a complex medical condition, or supporting a patient through one of life’s most challenging moments, Roz considers it a privilege to be part of each patient’s healthcare journey.
