Pre-Care

• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods, and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your treatment.(All of these factors increase risk of bruising and swelling)

• It is recommended to discontinue the use of Aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week before and after treatment to minimize bruising or bleeding. Please consult with your PCP prior to discontinuing any medications.

• Schedule your appointment 2-4 weeks prior to a special events such as a wedding or a vacation

• Discontinue Retin-A 2-3 days before to avoid increased redness & irritation

• Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you develop a cold/flu, cold sore, blemish, or rash, etc.

• Be sure to have a good meal, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.

• You must wait at least 2 weeks to have Neurotoxin treatments performed if you previously had cosmetic treatments with laser, ultrasound, peels, facials, or micro-dermabrasion

• You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Post-Care

• Do NOT manipulate the treated area for at least 3 hours

• Do NOT receive facials, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion for at least 10 days

• Do NOT lie down for 4 hours. This will prevent the Neurotoxin from tracking and will cause drooping

• Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after treatment. This will keep the Neurotoxin in the injected area and not elsewhere.

• It can take approximately 4 to 7 days for results to be seen. If the desired final result is not seen after 2 weeks you may need additional Neurotoxin.

• Discontinue Retin-A 2-3 days after to avoid increased redness & irritation

• Do not have another treatment until your clinician advises you it is safe to do so
